Medline has issued a nationwide recall affecting all Medline-branded hospital beds and related accessories due to potential electrical safety and patient entrapment risks.
UPDATED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: Medline has now advised that affected beds may remain in use while repair or replacement arrangements are being developed.
Beds should remain unplugged except when electrical adjustments are necessary. Patients may temporarily plug in their beds for repositioning but must unplug them afterward. Do not use extension cords.
Medline has also announced that certain beds may qualify for repair, replacement, or a full or partial refund.
At this time, Medline has not provided CHMEI with a comprehensive implementation plan or confirmed replacement timelines. We recognize the concern and inconvenience this situation creates and are actively seeking additional guidance.
